NEWCASTLE BUS INTERCHANGE
Winner: 2020 AWCI Awards of Excellence "Best Facade"
The Newcastle Bus Interchange was constructed in order to improve connectivity between heavy rail, light rail, bus platforms and pedestrian access at the Western edge of the CBD.
Vitrapanel cladding was chosen as a cost-effective alternative for a prefinished low maintenance cladding solution for this Transport NSW facility.
A short program created a logistically challenging project, that resulted in a large amount of Sunday work. However it was the large number of curves in the design that proved to be the most challenging element.
