This school multi purpose hall required high acoustic performance combined with natural/raw textures & tones.
The asymmetrical pattern with expressed joints in the Décor Image panels had to be carefully measured to produce millimeter perfect shop drawings for a pre-finished product.
The pattern of the Décor panels did not now allow the exposed screw fixings to line up with studs. The wall first had to be lined with 12mm Plywood. This enabled the team to install the exposed screws in a uniform pattern negating the issue of misaligning studs due to the irregular layout of the panels.
Painting the plywood substrate prior to installing the panels allowed the team to achieve the black expressed joints to enhance the nature of time timber-look grain.
